Build a simple chatbot

Create a short conversation flow, test its paths, and publish it to the right inbox.

Jump to a section

Start with one clear task, such as greeting a customer and asking which service they need. Keep the first version small enough that you can test every path.

Create the bot

Open Chatbots → Create Chatbot. Choose the relevant inbox in the creation flow and start a new bot. Give it a name that describes its purpose.

Build the conversation

Add the message and input blocks you need in the builder. Connect the start of the flow to the first message, then connect each answer to its next step. Use a short greeting, a clear question, and a useful response before adding more branches.

For example: greet the customer, let them choose “Order question” or “Product question”, and continue with the appropriate next question. Check that every available choice leads somewhere.

Test each path

Use the builder’s preview to follow every branch. Try unexpected input and returning to an earlier step. Check any variables and integrations with sample values before relying on them in a live conversation.

If you add an AI agent or store action, configure that connection first. A visible block does not prove that the required integration is connected.

Publish and verify

Save your changes and use Publish when the flow is ready. Confirm the intended inbox and test from a customer device. Check that the bot responds as expected and that a person can continue handling the conversation when needed.

After changes, repeat the relevant tests and publish the updated version. To automate a task outside a conversation flow, see automations.
